Background
RIAA - Recording Industry Association of America claims to be a trade group "that represents US recording industry." It also announces that it support recording business and legal climate in it. But what does that mean? It means that RIAA's members do their best to prevent their artists from earning money on their albums and prevent its consumers from choosing what they like to listen to. Its obvious that full money bags are much more important than common people for them. But it is not that obvious why should we pay company, that doesn't care of its consumers.
In fact RIAA do nothing to protect intellectual property, but its efforts in chasing single moms and children, who did'nt do anything bad except being conscious and understanding why we should share music.
And what is more RIAA filed a few lawsuits against recording, distribtion companies and companies that introduce new technologies. In 1998 it filed a lawsuit that accused company, that created MP3 digital audio player. Fortunately judge ruled in favor of Diamond, not RIAA. IT also filed suits against several internet radio stations and XM Satellite Radio.
And we should something about it now. We shold be treated like consumers, not criminals and we utterly need RIAA to understand it.
